ABSTRACT:
Polycom's Vortex EF2210, a standalone system for individual sites, is typically installed in meeting rooms along with one or more microphones and an automatic microphone mixer. Because the EF2210 delivers robust acoustic echo and noise cancellation performance, it is often used instead of the video conferencing codec's microphone and acoustic echo canceller. It provides a single microphone or line level input, plus two auxiliary inputs (for external devices such as a VCR). If additional microphone or line inputs are required, the Polycom Vortex EF2241 or Vortex EF2280 models are recommended.

The EF2210 features industry-leading, acoustic echo cancellation technology, which prevents received audio from being retransmitted to its original location. Patented noise cancellation algorithms dramatically reduce ambient noise in the audio sent to other sites, without affecting speech quality. User-adjustable, neural network Automatic Gain Control (ACG) reacts only to valid speech patterns, bringing voices within desired levels. The EF2210 may be programmed directly or though Polycom's Conference Composer software (included). The unit may also be controlled via external RS-232 devices.
