ABSTRACT:
Validating a network infrastructure for mass-deployment readiness is essential - but challenging. This is due to the complexity of creating realistic test cases to validate the performance of network elements in a large-scale, end-to-end network context. In an industry-wide first, just such a network - the Alcatel-Lucent Triple Play Service Delivery Architecture - was tested by Isocore Internetworking Labs, using Agilent Technologies test equipment, to determine its ability to converge delivery of residential triple-play and business services. Service providers evaluating converged network solutions for mass deployment will learn about the test methodology used in this comprehensive end-to-end test to measure and validate key performance metrics on scaleability, fault resilience, subscriber management, and quality of experience.
