ABSTRACT:
The Solera V2P Tap allows organizations to leverage their existing physical environment security and analysis tools to protect their virtual environment at the same time, using the same familiar tools they use in the physical environment. For example, this software allows compnaies to utilize their existing intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), as well as other standard security tools to analyze traffic between virtual machines. While originating from the virtual infrastructure, traffic that is regenerated to these security systems appears as any other network traffic and can therefore be analyzed using the same procedures. The virtual tap also runs very efficiently, with minimal CPU utilization. This is particularly important in virtual environments where the objective is to get the most out of processor capacity and minimize hardware cost. Topics: Compliance Forensics Network Security Storage Network Mgmt Network Analytics Network Visibility Network Surveillance
