Mobile NAC, from Fiberlink Communications, is the first Network Access Control technology designed specifically for mobile and remote workforces. This includes: "road warriors" (executives, salespeople, consultants and other frequent travelers), "day extenders" (officebased employees who do some of their work at home or on the road), home workers, telecommuters and remote office workers.
Mobile NAC is not a separate product, but rather an implementation of specific features of the proven Extend360 Mobility Platform. For several years the Extend360 Mobility Platform performed many of the main functions of a NAC product, including endpoint assessment, quarantine, and remediation. Enhancements introduced in early 2007 elevate this platform to a full NAC solution for mobile workers.
