ABSTRACT:
A new generation of on-demand business applications has matured that is designed specifically to meet the challenges of the 21st Century workplace. Designed to be delivered as a service, these applications effectively shift almost all of the cost and complexity of traditional on-premises applications from the customer to the software vendor. Customers of these on-demand solutions save significant resources--resources they would otherwise spend managing technology--that they can repurpose toward becoming more agile, more compliant with regulatory mandates, and in general more focussed on their core competencies and on improving their competitive position. These new applications, embodied by Workday Human Capital Management, Payroll and Business Management solutions, can further help companies of all sizes respond strategically and promptly to the significant business trends creating a new world of work--"Work 2.0"--and thus retain or even improve their competitive advantage, even in the face of powerful change.
