This document is based on an Alert Logic/TechTarget webcast entitled "Simple and Affordable PCI Compliance." In this document Nick Ignatiev and Matt Harkrider will explain how you can learn to easily and affordably become and maintain PCI DSS compliance. While the total requirements of PCI DSS are fairly clear in what all companies and organizations that store, process, and transmit cardholder data must do to be compliant and not risk suspension of credit card processing, there certainly are many questions on how to implement and leverage technology to help achieve this compliance. So, they will explain several things on which network security technologies are specifically mandated by PCI DSS, some tips and tricks to improve audit outcomes and maintain consistent compliance, how much to spend on your PCI compliance efforts, and how you can benefit from software as a service technology.
They will also cover a few different things specifically, but the overall goal of this document is to give eveyone some insight as to what we are seeing in the industry and in the field of PCI compliance specific to retailers. They will discuss about some of the challenges, some of the requirements that are mandated by the PCI DSS Council, certain things and methods that need to be acknowledged and managed during the compliance process, and then a conceptually new way to get compliance done in a much easier, more cost effective, and less of a management burden type of method.
