ABSTRACT:
It's an inevitable life lesson: if something seems to good to be true, it probably is. As such, Eric Spille was convinced there had to be a catch to the server virtualization technology he implemented late last year at The Bama Companies, Inc. Bama chose IBM DS 4800 SANs, IBM blades and Palo Alto, Calif.-based VMware Inc.'s ESX software, which comes bundled with the IBM blades. Buying a unified solution as opposed to pieces from different vendors was a big plus "The blade environment will allow Bama to better utilize hardware resources, as well as conserve energy and reduce server sprawl".
